Mother/Daughter Style – Winter Walking

Footwear brand Sorel very kindly sent over some winter boots to me and Eva. You may remember last winters mother/daughter style post featuring Sorel. Looking back at them I can’t get over how much older Eva looks like in the space of 10 months!

So here we are posing in a field. Obviously I slapped on the make-up for your benefit…nobody wants to see my bare-ass naked face on the internet, which is what realistically happens on a dog walk.

Me: ASOS Jeans, Sorel boots*, Free People cape*, Wallis Leather jacket (old), Whistles high neck sweater, Zara Gloves
Eva: Primark Jeans, H&M Coat, Sorel Boots*, H&M high neck top

These boots would be in their element crunching through snow. With the cold weather upon us; they are our choice of footwear to go dog walking. They have a thick fleece lining and faux fur trim making them extremely warm. Although I would say size up because of this. They look quite bulky, but they don’t feel heavy to walk in as you might expect.

I wouldn’t go as far to say they are a fashion item for me. I won’t put together an outfit and think to wear these. They literally are just for times when I want to to be comfortable and warm for example walking the dog, through snow, Eva to school etc. Saying that they are a hell of a lot more stylish than other waterproof snow/walking boots I have seen in the market. Sorel do have more fashion focused styles such as the Joan of arc wedge and the Medina boot, which would be perfect for facing the cold and staying stylish.

I love Eva’s mini version. She literally wears hers everywhere. I am not sure how much longer Eva will want to do the cheesy ‘wear the same thing as mummy’ thing, so I better savour these moments while I still can. She still thinks it’s wonderful when we have similar things. Hopefully if these photos are still floating on the internet when she is older, I won’t have embarrassed her too much. I like to think that when Eva is a pre-teen I will be down with the kids! Or more likely…come across as a Regina George mum. “I’m not a regular mum, I’m a cool mum!”.
