Find A Quote and Live by It Make it your motto, write it in places you'll see, think of it when you feel like giving up. Having a quote that you feel strongly about and that motivates you can really make a difference. My favourite quote (although I'm 90% sure I made it up myself!) is 'Laziness never got anyone anywhere'. It reminds me to get off my butt and do something to change my life. And it really, truely has helped me to stop making excuses and get on with doing whatever it is that I need to get done. If you're looking for inspiration, or want some ideas, I have a whole board on Pinterest dedicated to Inspirational Quotes - you can find it here (link).

You Are What you Eat
It's an age old saying, but it's for a reason! If you eat fresh healthy fruits and vegetables and steer clear of processed foods full of salt, sugar, fat and words you pronounce, you'll fell better in yourself. Eating healthily gives you a clearer and happier mind, more positivity and more motivation. Don't believe me? Try for a week (or even a day or two) to eat no processed food, yes that does mean no chocolate bars, no fries and no fizzy drinks. Instead fill your plate with fresh fruit and vegetables and whole grains and see how much better you feel. I eat a completely plant based diet, but do what works for you.

The 3 Task Habit Procrastination is the thief of time. I wouldn't like to add up the hours I've spent procrastinating! One think that can help with this is to have a clear list of what you want to achieve each day. Either take the time to write in with your breakfast, or jot it down on your morning commute. It doesn't have to be anything life changing, but simple tasks such as reorganising you nail polish stash or baking a cake. It gets you up and doing the things you want and need to do. Don't go writing huge long lists for yourself, make it achievable and you'll feel more accomplished at the end of the day. Three tasks is a good starting point.

Take Time to do What Makes YOU Happy Whether it's going for a short walk, watching soppy films in your pj's or learning a new recipe, make time each week to do something for yourself that makes you happy. Constantly performing monotonous tasks and doing things to make other people happy can be draining. But taking an hour out of your week to do something for yourself, can be refreshing and relaxing. It'll give you a fresh mind when you go back to performing the not so fun tasks. Ultimately making you more productive - much like when you were advised to take study breaks when at College/University.

Spend Time Outside I won't pretend to understand the science behind it, but we all know that spending time outside makes us happier and clears our minds. Especially when in nature and not walking through bustling streets. I'm realistic, I know this isn't always achievable, but grasp at opportunities, don't make excuses and get that fresh air into your lungs!

Turn it All Off I've left this one to last as it is the step I struggle with most. Technology is one of the most amazing things we have in the 21st Century, but it is also one of the most distracting. Trawling the internet looking at silly pictures and articles, browsing Instagram and watching Youtube they're all great things, done in moderation. But sometimes it can get a little addictive so if you want to write a blog post, get the house cleaned or spend time with friends put down the social media, it can wait.
