HOW TO WEAR: WINTER PASTELS

WEARING HUES THAT I WOULDN’T TYPICALLY WEAR.

ASOS Crop Top, ASOS Trousers, ASOS Coat, Louis Vuitton Chain Louise Bag, Black Heels, Pearl Bracelets, Pearl Ring, Gold Rings

I associate pastels with an overload of cuteness and have never really worn many pastel-hued outfits. I find that a good way to venture into the unknown is to stick with silhouettes that you know. So, high-waist wide leg pants, an oversized coat and a crop top are pieces that are a style staple for me. Trying them in new colours is made a lot easier because I’m at least familiar with the shapes and cuts and there is only one alien variable.

My tip for wearing winter pastels? Stick with only two pastel colours. Maximum: three. I wouldn’t even try three but I’m sure some of the super style savvy can pull it off. Here, I am essentially wearing only two different colours: blue and pink. Two shades of pink and the lighter shade helps to soften the outfit and bring the look together.

One of the main reasons that I sometimes wish I was tall is so that I could pull off wearing wide leg trousers and midi skirts with trainers. Like I did in this picture. I actually changed into my Superstars just for that picture as I knew it would look cool sitting down. It would never work standing up though- 5’1 problems.
