In the print world, May magazines tend to be dubbed the “beauty issue” with pages upon pages of beauty advice, new products, tips, etc. It seems this year us beauty bloggers had our own reason to celebrate.
THE MAKEUP SHOW
Earlier this month, I attended
The Makeup Show to learn what’s new and learn from the pro’s. Now in its ninth year, TMS continues to be a platform for top beauty brands to launch their most coveted products (remember
OCC Lip Tars??). Highlights include:
Sephora Collection showcased their
PRO makeup brush collection (perfect for makeup artists and consumers seeing that Sephora is a leader in terms of beauty retailers).
OFRA’s Foundation Stick launched exclusively at the show this year in seven new shades and provides sheer-to-full coverage. Lauren Napier launched her new
CLEANSE by LAUREN NAPIER facial cleansing wipes which allows you to cleanse on-the-go. Whether you take one or three, the wipes remain saturated and ready for use.
Charlotte Tilbury debuted her collection (which arrives on US shores this fall!)
Kevyn Aucoin’s final makeup kit This year, The Makeup Show paid homage to the legendary Kevyn Aucoin with the “The Makeup Show Icon Gallery.” The Makeup Show worked with Kevyn Aucoin Beauty to showcase never-before-seen pieces from Kevyn Aucoin’s life work, celebrating his dedication to the art of makeup. It was great seeing throwback images all while learning more about his career.
BEAUTYCON NYC
First panel of the day featuring Whitney Port, Fleur de Force, Kandee Johnson, Joe Zee, among others From makeup professionals to YouTube beauty gurus, BeautyCon NYC was an eye opening event. As a marketer (day time gig), I’ve always understood the valuer of the beauty guru even when coworkers laughed or dismissed them as “little girls in their bedrooms” (<
