Rise and Grind

I feel like sometimes I’m in my own little world, and you’re always next to me, and I don’t know how you do it.
— Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

It can’t be easy being Mr Mmerci Encore all the time. Being with a creative whose mind can never switch off must be rather tiresome. Even when I’m here my mind is somewhere else. Morocco. Herringbone floors. The future. The past. It’s probably worse when I have jetlag – after five days of little to no sleep, racing thoughts, big dreams, … all make it hard to string sentences together much less focus on one task at hand. But having a grounded support system makes this runaway balloon feel happiest knowing that no matter how long that piece of string is, she tethered on to something wonderful.

Sneaking in a quick post before brunch though I should be getting ready instead. There’s been so much on this weekend from meeting designers to meeting other really cool labels we’re about to collab with, yesterday alone we had a series of back-to-back meetings before winding down for a cold drink at Paddy Hills, my new fave restaurant in Singapore.

Here are a few shots of what we’ve been up to lately. For more of-the-moment sneak peeks, you can always join us here on Instagram @mmerciencore.

We’re about to embark on our most exciting chapter yet and it’s going to take everything we’ve got. Firing up the ol’ Pinterest boards, scrawling away in our Moleskines.

What they say is really true: create a life that feels good on the inside, not one that just looks good on the outside.

NOTES TO SELF

1. Be disciplined with your sleep routine & keep good sleep hygiene. That means no social media immediately before bedtime.

2. German chamomile is the boss bitch of insomnia. Paired with lavender essential oil and applied to the soles of my feet, I feel that it helps knock me out and helps me wake up feeling refreshed better than any melatonin pill.

3. Enjoy the process.

4. Never say yes to anything out of fear.

5. If overwhelmed by a task, find the element that’s going to make the biggest impact and eat that elephant one bite at a time.
