Spots and stripes

My love for pleated skirts was reignited when I saw this striped one in the J.Crew sale! I'm not typically one for mixing prints, but I do consider most stripes to be practically neutral, so I matched it up with this polka dot blouse for a weekend trip to the Cloisters!
Notice something different about these photos? Look, no hat! Actually, once summer comes around I wear hats much less- my hair can't handle the NY humidity, add 'hat hair 'to the matter and it really escalates the problem! It's funny because I do feel like outfits are incomplete without a hat, but my favorite mirrored sunglasses do make things more fun! I'm thinking of getting some more in a different color, perhaps pink, or blue?
