Draw all Summer! 63 Drawing Prompts for Kids
Guys. My kids are not out of school until June 12. I keep seeing graduation caps and Field Day popsicles all over Instagram, but we’re still neck deep in tests and assignments! Can’t wait for summer.
Today is my final “Art in Action,” a class I volunteered to teach for my 2nd grader. I share a little bit about a famous artist and then we practice using their technique together. We’ve covered Picasso, Van Gogh, Cezanne, and more. Today we’re doing Currier and Ives and trying out a printing technique. It should be fun.
Since it’s my last day, I wanted to leave something with the kids to encourage them to keep them engaged with art during the summer. So I put together this quick grid of different drawing activities and prompts to keep them drawing and thinking about art. I didn’t put dates on it, because I want it to be easy to adapt. I’m going to encourage them to find projects they feel like doing and then crossing the box off once the project is finished!
You know I love to share, so here’s a printable PDF you can hang on the back of your pantry for when your kids tell you they’re bored.
