TOP 10: 90s HALLOWEEN FILMS

It’s finally arrived to the time of year that we just loveeeeee, and here at Motel we are big fans of Halloween. In between all the fancy dress parties and trick or treating it’s a number one rule of the scary season that you have to indulge into some good old classic Halloween movies. We’ve thrown it back to the 90s and mixed it up with some of our funny favourites and gory classics to give you a top ten Halloween Horrors to watch this October.

1) Hocus Pocus (1993)

Starring our favourite witches of all time Hocus Pocus is a Halloween ‘classic’ that is a must watch year after year. In Sarah Jessica Parker’s less glamorous days she stars as one of three witches- Winfred, Sarah and Mary who are resurrected on Halloween night, and it is up to the fate of two teenagers and an immortal cat to decide their fate.

2) Beetlejuice (1988)

Not quite a 90′s movie but it’s close enough. Directed by the legend that is Tim Burton, a ghostly couple are haunting their beautiful home as they contract the services of a “bio-exorcist” in order to remove the obnoxious new owners of their house.

3) The Addams Family (1991)

Oooooh, they are our favourite scary family, and their daughter Wednesday has been a style icon for us for years. The morbidly eccentric family celebrate everything dark about life and death, but a con artist is about to stir things up for the wealthy family posing as their long lost Uncle Fester.

4) The Blair Witch Project (1999)

Three film students travel into a Maryland forest to film a documentary about the Blair Witch legend. After the three students vanish, only their footage is left behind.

5) I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997)

Starring a favour-some 90s cast including Sarah Michelle Gellar and Jennifer Love Hewitt this haunting thriller tells the story of four teens who face great danger one year after their car hits a stranger whose body they dump in the sea.

6) Casper (1995)

He’s everyones friendly ghost, and we love this 90s movie. A paranormal expert and his daughter stay in an abandoned house that is occupied by three mischievous ghosts and one friendly one.

7) Night Of The Living Dead (1990)

A remake of the original 1986 film it’s not Halloween without a zombie and gore filled horror movie. The unburied dead return to life and seek to eat the living!

8) Child’s Play 3 (1991)

Everyone’s favourite possessed doll returns to seek revenge for Andy, who has since become an adult after defeating the serial killer doll as a young boy.

9) Double Double Toil and Trouble (1993)

Starring the ultimate 90s twins that will forever be our favourite fashion throwback duos, Mary Kate and Ashley put out this awesome Halloween film. Follow the twins as they race to defeat their evil aunt and save their family’s home from foreclosure.

10) Idle Hands (1999)

Anton Tobias is just like any other lazy 17-year-old. Until one Halloween he wakes up to discover his parents are two headless Halloween decorations. He soon discovers that his right hand has become possessed with a blood-thirsty murderous mind of its own. Starring super babe Jessica Alba, it’s deffo one to watch.
