OMG We Bought A House! S2 Ep3: The Master Bedroom!

Finnallllly we decorate in our master bedroom! True, I still want to re-finish the floors but since we’d rather spend money on the master bathroom and exterior of the house, that may have to wait. I really love the design of muted tones with lots of mixed patterns, it’s beach-y, eclectic elegance! I hope you love it too! Watch the video above to see the whole transformation and shop the room in the list below! Also all the steps for the DIY projects seen in this episode are below as well!

  • Raw Wood and Metallic Wall Hanging

    Prep It:

    Do It!:

    1. Tape off the sides of your wood pieces to protect the bark from the paint.
    2. Spray the tops of the wood pieces, that you want to display, with the primer. Let dry.
    3. Spray over the primer with the metallic spray paint. Let dry.
    4. Remove the tape.
    5. Plan out your installation by laying the wood pieces under your branch to your liking. Once you’re happy with your layout you can either mark where you want to drill your holes into your branch by eyeing it, or you can measure even spaces with a ruler.
    6. Once your branch is marked, drill your holes using a drill bit slightly thinner than your hook screws.
    7. Screw in your hook screws into the branch (by hand).
    8. Drill your holes into the wood pieces. (Note: the bottom pieces are only going to need one hole where as the pieces that hang in the middle need a hole in the bottom and top)
    9. Screw the screw hooks into the wood pieces by hand.
    10. Using the mounting brackets, mount the branch onto the wall.
    11. Loop the wood pieces onto the hooks on your mounted branch until your installation is complete!

    Lazy Clock Wall Art

    Prep It:

    Do It!:

    1. Plan out where you want your swagger sticks. Mark the wall in two places for each stick (one mark near the bottom of the stick and one near the top).
    2. Drill screws into the marked areas leaving a 1/4 inch of the screw head out.
    3. Twist some wire onto the screw leaving 6 inches on each side to twist the swagger sticks into place. Tuck the wire out of site underneath the stick and trim as needed with the wire cutters.
    4. Use the picture hanging nails to hammer your numbers (1 to 12) into place in a nice lazy arrangement – not in order!
    5. Let this clock remind you to relax and be lazy in your cozy bedroom!
