A striking Swedish villa built from solid wood

I love to shake things up a little here on My Scandinavian Home (after all you never know when inspiration might strike!). On Friday we took a tour of a beautiful, relaxed french family home, yesterday we visited a small space in the heart of Sweden's capital city and today I thought we'd take a tour of a home in Nacka - in the outskirts of Stockholm, built from solid wood. Villa Eder-Hederus is home to architects Josef Eder and Sanna Hederus, who designed the house. The villa has been nominated for the coveted Träpriset 2016 (an award which recognises Swedish architectural designs built from solid wood in a modern style). Let's take a peek inside...

I love how the windows let in big bites of nature. And that skylight jutting out over the black ceiling is incredible, imagine gazine into the stars at night? Is there anything in particular you love about this home?

Unusually for Scandinavia I see the space has been furnished with wall to wall carpets! I must admit when I go home to London I do love stepping out of bed onto a soft warm carpet (my Swedish husband would never allow them in our home in Sweden though)! Do you have any in your home?

More homes with light wood include my neighbour's lovely home here in Malmö, a Swedish home with fab shelving (love the garden too), this beautifully calm space and Lees house. Are you a fan?

Other links from around the web today:

How clever is this wardrobe that converts into a room divider.

I was so sad to hear about David Bowie yesterday - what a legend?! His will be the only music on my spotify today. My favourite songs have to be either
Heroes or
Space oddity. How about you?

I discovered the Ballerina Project yesteday and was spellbound by some of the prints. So beautifu!

Cast iron japanese teapots (as seen in this home) are everywhere right now and a great alternative to ceramic teapots. I'm also absolutely loving Chemex slow coffee brewers (source on Amazon here).

I can't decide if the water looks cold or warm (it wouldn't bother my man either way, he's been in the sea several times this winter here in Sweden!)- eitherway I'd love to be here right now. More amazing shots by Daniel Ernst here.

Have a lovely day!
