Made in Italy or not? Valeria Mangani // part two

We had already talked about her amazing talent to discover and support Italian and worldwide talents in one of our previous post.

But now let’s get ready to make a leap into the personal world of Valeria Mangani.

Because the truth is that every women wants to be her!

So… we will discover how!

• What are the personalities which inspires you most?

Sadly they are all death: Oriana Fallaci, Evita Peron and Jessica Rabbit.

• You are for many women a true style icon. What is your advice to be always on the top?

Always be spontaneous. There is nothing worse than seeing a woman who wants to be vamp and stumbles, or wants to be elegant spending too much time in our wardrobe trying outfits. I travel the world to give lectures on the Made in Italy and Italian style (in English of course, very simple for me because I was born in South Africa). The world loves Italians for what we create, wear, transmit. Well I said to be spontaneous, because we have in our DNA an innate sense of style. Perhaps in each of us there is a DNA fragment of Michelangelo, Leonardo, Raffaello.

The mix of clothes that we choose in the morning reflect our mood. Each color has an unconscious meaning, then wear clothes without studying the “Manual of dressing women” reveals the beauty of the soul. In the past women used to do several changes of clothes depending on the time of day (morning dress, afternoon and evening). Nowadays this would be anachronistic. We are all managers women with children and we run in a thousand places, sometimes being ubiquitous! Be instinctive, perceptive and creative in the magic moment of dressing is very important!

• What is the most important item of your wardrobe?

Undoubtedly the little black dress. A must since Audrey Hepburn. An essential garment that change theme depending on the matching shoes (ballerinas = bon ton, boot = sporty, decoltè heel 15 = sexy evening).

Always be combined with a Chanel lipstick rouge, of course.

Ora però prepariamoci a fare un salto nel personale mondo di Valeria.

Perché la verità è che tutte vorrebbero essere lei!

• Quali sono le personalità alle quali ti ispiri maggiormente?

Tutte grandi donne defunte purtroppo. Oriana Fallaci, Evita Peron, Jessica Rabbit (della serie “Non sono cattiva…E’ che mi disegnano così”)!

• Data la tua innata classe ed eleganza, per molte donne sei una vera icona di stile. Qual’è il tuo consiglio per essere sempre al top?

Essere sempre spontanee. Non c’è niente di peggio di vedere di una donna che vuole fare la vamp e inciampa, o vuole essere elegante e passa un’ora nel guardaroba di casa a provare outfit. Vengo chiamata in tutto il mondo a tenere conferenze sul Made in Italy e lo stile italiano (in inglese naturalmente, che è per me madrelingua essendo nata in Sud Africa). Il mondo ci ama per ciò che noi italiani sappiano così sapientemente creare, indossare, trasmettere. Ebbene ho detto siate spontanee, perché noi italiane abbiamo nel nostro DNA un innato senso dello stile. Forse perché in ognuno di noi c’è un frammento di DNA di Michelangelo, di Leonardo, di Raffaello e quindi i famosi mix&match per noi sono istintivi.

L’abbinamento degli abiti che scegliamo al mattino riflettono il nostro umore e il tipo di giornata alla quale andremo incontro. Ogni colore ha un significato inconscio, quindi scegliere senza studiare il “manuale di vestizione femminile” lascia trasparire la bellezza dell’anima. Una volta la donna usava fare diversi cambi d’abito a seconda del momento della giornata (abito da mattina, da pomeriggio e da sera). Al giorno d’oggi questo sarebbe quantomeno anacronistico. Siamo tutte donne manager con i bambini sulle spalle e corriamo in mille posti, talvolta col dono dell’ubiquità! Essere istintive, percettive e indubbiamente creative nel momento magico della vestizione è importantissimo!

• Qual è l’indumento più importante del tuo guardaroba?

Indubbiamente the little black dress. Un must dall’epoca di Audrey Hepburn. Un indumento essenziale che cambia aspetto a seconda delle scarpe abbinate (ballerine= bon ton, stivale=sportivo, decoltè tacco 15= sexy da sera).

Sempre da abbinare ad un rossetto rouge Chanel, naturalmente.
