My Life is a Game of Whac-A-Mole.
Generally, Whac-A-Mole metaphors indicate a type of failure (because in Whac-A-Mole, even as you successfully whack one mole, another smirking varmint pops right up).
We should aim for long-term solutions to rid ourselves of ALL moles/problems instead of the shortcuts and quick fixes attained by a heavy mallet. Alas, if only life were that simple and we could solve one cute, little problem at a time.
In (my) reality, moles appear, persist, reappear, return refreshed from vacation, stay for dinner, bring all their friends with them, have wild parties all night long, and reproduce.So the challenge of our lives is taking joy every single time we obliterate or suppress even the smallest one - knowing all the while that another pesky mole will soon emerge.
