Dear One-Year-Old Asher

Dear One-Year-Old Asher, YOU ARE ONE! How did that happen?! Asher, I absolutely adore you. From day one, you have just been so sweet. You make the cutest/silliest/most adorable little expressions. I love how your eyes always seem to sparkle. And you have the best smile, too. Seriously, you are just beyond cute!

You are extraordinarily affectionate, Asher. You give the biggest (most slobbery!) kisses, and you are constantly crawling all over Adam. You are quite the snuggle bug; in fact, you want to cuddle all night long, so we often refer to you as a "little leach." We mean that in the most loving way--kind of. ;)

You are incredibly earnest; when you want something, you want it with all your might. Your greatest wants lately have been: to climb the stairs, to touch Archie's cat food, and to find and eat any small, dangerous object that catches your eye (pine needles are your absolute favorite).

Most of all, you just want to be a big boy! You want to walk so badly. You can stand all by yourself, and you've even taken two steps. Any day, you'll be running all over the place. I love watching you stand because you get so proud yourself and start clapping. (Also, your tiny little chicken legs look especially cute when you're standing!) You also enjoy climbing and find it fascinating to step on things. Like you purposely step on a puzzle piece or something and then start giggling about it. You're such a little weirdo sometimes! :)

Asher Leo, my sweet son, I love you more than I could ever explain. You have pushed and pulled and stretched me more than I thought I could handle at times, but you have enriched my life exponentially. I love watching you grow and seeing how your personality develops. We are proud of you, Asher, and we are so happy to have you as our baby. We love you!!!
