Life Lately: August

Hello there! It's been a while, hasn't it? Apologies for the silence around these parts lately. I haven't forgotten about this wee blog, it's more that I've been preoccupied with other things. I recently started a part-time contract doing something new and different (remember my post about self-employment versus working in-house? Well, now I've got a bit of both!). So that, alongside my freelance editing work, has been keeping me pretty busy, and when things get busy blogging naturally falls to the bottom of the pile. Plus, I just haven't felt like I've had much to blog about lately, and I figure there's really no reason in forcing things. Blogging isn't a job or a source of income for me, so sometimes I need to remind myself that it should be for enjoyment rather than an obligation. There's no point in putting half-arsed posts out there just for the sake of it!

On to the topic at hand now though ... all in all, my August has been a pretty good one, and above are a few snapshots from my Instagram feed. Some of my favourite bits have included:

I'm still loving sewing my own clothes, but does anyone have any good Melbourne fabric shop recommendations? I need to build up my fabric stash.
One day I will add a yellow bowl to my Cathrineholm collection.
Our good friends came to visit from interstate and we celebrated Melbourne-style, with plenty of vegan treats, coffee and beer.

How was your August, and do you have much planned for September? I'm pretty excited, because it means spring is on its way and we have a trip to Sydney coming up for our anniversary. I cannot wait!
