Shattering Stigmas 2018: An Introduction
Hi, everyone! Today’s post will be a quick one. I wanted to introduce Shattering Stigmas, a blog event that I’ll be co-hosting over the next two weeks! Shattering Stigmas is an annual blog event that focuses on ending the stigma surrounding mental health. It’s a place for us to have honest conversations about mental health, our experiences, and the books that we’ve seen ourselves reflected in. The four other (wonderful) hosts for this year’s event are Taylor, Marie, Ben, and Kitty.
I’ve admired Shattering Stigmas from afar for quite a few years, and last year I posted a guest post about my own experiences on Shannon’s blog. (It’s still one of my favorite things I’ve written, tbh.) I’m pretty open online about my struggles with mental illness, and I though co-hosting this event this year was a great way to continue and expand that dialogue.
Throughout the next two weeks, the five hosts will be posting guest posts, recommendations lists, book reviews, and more, all centering around the theme of mental health. If you’re interested in contributing a guest post, myself and a couple other hosts still have a couple spots open– the turnaround time would be quick, but please shoot me a DM on Twitter if you’re interested!
Anyway, I can’t wait to share these posts with all of you! Make sure you’re following all five hosts so you don’t miss any content. Oh, and check out the masterlist of Shattering Stigmas 4.0 posts! I hope you’re all as excited as I am!
Are you excited for Shattering Stigmas? What would you most like to see during this event?
