Casual (fashion) Friday – How to style a plaid skirt

Hey guys! I hope you’re all having a good weekend so far.

Just to update you a bit on what’s going on with me, I finished my last marketing internship with a local construction company a while back and in an effort to move towards my dreams of getting into the fashion industry, my next job choice was in retail. JC Penney to be exact. I’ve never really loved the idea of working in retail, but I’ve always loved JC Penney and it’s been a great place to work as I ease my way into the fashion arena. As a result, you’ll see a LOT of JC Penney here on the blog as I have a pretty good discount, and you all know how I feel about bargains. That’s enough about me, onto the outfit, right?

I have been eyeing this Joe Fresh plaid skirt for ages and it finally went on clearance this past week. JC Penney is having an amazing clearance sale right now where all clearance items are an additional 25 percent off! This has made working there quite difficult for me as I try and restrain myself everyday, haha. My first thought was to pair the skirt with a white or off white sweater which would have been nice, but I love the skirt so much, I wanted to do something a little more unexpected. I was also eyeing this lovely Liz Claiborne sweater, but had no idea how I was going to wear it until I went to purchase this skirt. From there, I was all set! This outfit is a bit dressy for Friday, but I was going to have dinner with my boyfriend and some friends after work, so it was appropriate. You could easily wear this look any day during the week for a relaxed, classic work look! Here’s the look!

(NOTE: Unfortunately, I couldn’t find the same sweater online, but check your local JC Penney store, because they seem to have a number of sizes still in stock! Same applies to my shoes)
