Smoldering & Romantic Valentine’s Day Smokey Eye using Urban Decay’s Naked 3 Palette

Hey everyone!

As we all know, Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and I wanted show you all a couple of great make up looks that would be perfect during your Valentine’s Day rendezvous. To start, I wanted to create a sultry Valentine’s Day smokey eye using my go to palette right now which is Urban Decay’s Naked 3 Palette. Considering the rosy hues of the palette, it may as well be called the palette of love because it’s simply perfect for Valentine’s Day. So anyway, let’s get to the tutorial!

What You’ll Need:

An eye primer to creates a base for the shadows to adhere to, enhances the vibrancy of the shadows and make your shadows last all day! I’m using Urban Decay’s Primer Potion in “Original” which is a clear primer, along with Urban Decay’s Primer Potion in “Eden” which is a nude based primer that will help the colors pop a bit more.

Urban Decay’s Naked 3 Palette. The colors I’m using are indicated in the picture below.

You’ll also need the brush that comes in the palette as shown in the picture above, a fluffy blending brush, a regular blending brush, and a flat eye shading brush.

Lastly, you’ll need a black eye liner pencil. I’m going to be using /0/” target=”_blank”>Milani’s Liquid Eye, eye liner pencil in “Black”.

Smoldering Romantic Smokey Eye Tutorial

Step 1:

Take the “Original” Urban Decay primer and apply it all over your lid and lower lash line with your finger. Follow up by apply “Eden” just to your movable lid and up to your brow bone with the flat side of the of brush that comes in the Naked 3 palette for a more precise application. You’ll want to blend everything out with your finger when you’re done.

Step 2:

Next, take your flat shading brush and apply the color “Strange” to your brow bone area as your highlight color. I like to start with the highlight color first and make my way down. I’ve found that doing so helps all of the colors blend better. Remember, the key to any great eye look, especially smoldering smokey looks is blending!

Step 3:

Take your fluffy blending brush and apply “Limit” to just above your crease area to serve as your transition color.

Step 4:

With the same blending brush, apply the color “Nooner” directly into your crease area and blend.

Step 5:

Now take your regular blending brush and apply the color “Darkside” from the outer corner of your lid all the way into your inner corner. This brush helps you get a very precise, yet smokey line in your crease. You want to also take what’s left on your brush and drag it down to your lower lash line to intensify the smokey look. Follow up by blending everything out with your fluffy brush.

Step 6:

Take the fluffier side of the brush that comes in the palette and apply the color “Mugshot” on your lid area. Take whatever is left on the brush and apply it to the inner 3rd of your lower lash line like so:

Step 7:

Take the same brush (and after wiping it off on a napkin) apply the color “Dust” to your dear duct area.

Add a very thin line of black eye liner to your top lash line and your favorite mascara, and you’re ready for the night! Here’s the final look:
