WORDS | Another month on.
where the gold roses grow
On an opening note, I am thinking of making these tumblr accompanied updates a regular thing. Whenever I break from the internet, tumblr always eases me back in with its comfort blanket of all things visual offering.
I have again been away and for that I probably should make apologies but as this blog is purely recreational, I shall not. A lot of unsettlement entered my life a few weeks prior to the near calm I am feeling now. After 6 months living in a shared house with girls many years my junior, I had to sever ties and uproot from my living arrangement. Unfortunately people are not all that you expect them to be and relationships break down, but the sheer amount of ill air in the house between what very much became them and I was too thick to bare for the remaining part of the academic year and out of favour for, in all honesty them and I, I decided to leave.
1 week 4 days later and I am feeling entirely at home in my new one bed first floor flat. I have taken my time to fill it with everything that is mine and I am slowly buying furniture whenever I can. At the age of 26 and with my past experiences of both living in halls (which actually went rather well) and then a shared house (not so well), I came to the decision that having a very separate 'me' space was of utmost importance. Living alone isn't for everyone but for someone of my particulars it ranks as the choice of preference and I am now very happy. No longer merely a mature student but an adult finally dipping ones toes into that grown up world of budgeting and bills (as I'm sure you can guess, unfortunately flats don't come by cheap!)
