Father’s Day Twizzlers Cake Topper

Father’s Day got you in a twist? Go ahead and twist up this super cute cake topper in no time at all with a pack of Twizzlers Candy Straws. Snip up extra Straws to create oversize sprinkles for the top of this cake. Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there!

Materials needed: Twizzlers Candy Straws, kitchen shears, 4 bamboo skewers, 1 toothpick.

Step 1: For the D: Cut 4 inches off a Twizzler Straw, and then cut a 2 inch piece.
Step 2: Insert a bamboo skewer up though the end of the longer piece, then insert the skewer into the shorter piece. The straws are hollow so you will be able to easily thread the skewer through.
Step 3: Twist the longer piece up to the top of the skewer, and pierce the other end gently through the Twizzler. You may need to wiggle the Twizzler to reshape it a little. Repeat with a different color to make two letter “Ds”.
Step 4: For the A: Cut a 1 ½” piece of a third color Twizzler. Poke a toothpick through the straw of it and set aside.
Step 5: Cut two equal 3-inch lengths of Twizzler. Cut a slanted angle into the top of the two pieces, so they fit together to form the top of the A. Pinch the tops together with your fingers and they should stick.
Step 6: Poke the toothpick into each interior edge of the A legs. Insert bamboo skewers up each leg. Trim the ends of the bamboo sticks to get the height of your cake topper right.
Step 7: Insert the skewers into your cake and cut up the remainder of the Twizzlers to create oversize sprinkles, and decorate the top of the cake with them!
