Get the Look: Olivia at Fendi

One of the best things about my job as a makeup artist are the relationships you build through your career. Not only are you able to do what you love, but you build a loyalty and trust as well. Something that is equally apreciated when you’re working with a personality or an actress.

Last week in Paris with Olivia was a busy one! On her last show of the week, I wanted to push doing a color on her eyes. Something that was outside of her comfort zone but yet still tasteful and chic. When she showed us her outfit, I talked her into allowing me to do a pastel blue on her lid. Too be honest, she wasn’t into it.

The trick to pulling off a colored eye lid is to not stray away from your usual eye technique. If you’re always wearing a smokey eye in shades of grey, trying out another color isn’t so bad because you’re familiar with the application.

With this pastel eye, I kept the color solely on her lid stopping at the crease. In our usual form, I would use a coppery shade on her lid instead. This time it was only another color but the technique was still the same.

When she saw everything together, it was a sigh of relief-she loved it!
