PFW: The Beauty Trends and Our Must-Have Looks

From gothic colored lips at Emanuel Ungaro, to graphic eyeliner at Christian Dior and Lanvin, here are the best beauty looks from the Fall 2015 runways at Paris Fashion Week.

Chloé: Easy, breezy and downright beautiful was the beauty look at Chloé’s Fall 2015 show. Perfectly tousled hair was paired with barely-there pink lips and a glowing complexion confirming less is always more. Lucia Pieroni, working with MAC Cosmetics, brushed Vintage Rose cream blush high along the tops of the apples of the cheeks to create a more believable just-in-from-the-outdoors effect.

Christian Dior: I wanted to instantly draw attention to the eyes by creating a very strong graphic look,” says Peter Philips, creative and image director for Dior Makeup, who created the block-like shadow design that the models wore down the catwalk. “Eyeshadow was applied in a dense block across the upper eyelid in a choice of khaki or plum from the Palette 5 Couleurs Cosmopolite Exuberante, or in bronze and brown from the Palette 5 Couleurs Cosmopolite Eclectic. Sadly both palettes don’t launch till August but you can get the same look using the NARS Duo Eyeshadow in Brousse.

Emanuel Ungaro: “It’s a little bit masculine, a little bit feminine – quite boyish” is how makeup artist Lucia Pieroni described the look she created for the Emanuel Ungaro show. Working with MAC Cosmetics, she created a “slightly overdrawn” mouth using Lip Pencil in Currant and Lipmix in Burgundy while leaving the rest of the face bare.

Lanvin: Over at Lanvin, makeup artist Pat McGrath called her inspiration – as given by Alber Elbaz, Lanvin’s artistic director – the idea of “nomads in the city.” She put black liner on the inside of models’ eyes and applied mascara on their top lashes and a taupe-like hue on lids. For dramatically lined eyes try Bobbi Brown’s Perfectly Defined Gel Eyeliner in Pitch Black followed by Clinique’s High Impact Mascara.

Carven: Yet more ‘barely there’ makeup was seen at Carven. Makeup artist Nina Haverkamp went for “freshness”. “It’s all about the cheeks – there’s a shine,” she said, adding a key product employed was a creamy blush. Haverkamp also applied a tinge of mascara and brownish eye pencil. For a similar look try the Josie Maran Argan Color Stick in Coral.
