Runway Report: Issa Fall 2015

For his first collection, Creative Director Jamie O’Hare presented a fierce array of dresses and separates that “explores the confidence and sensuality of the Issa woman“.

Animal prints, fringing, dresses with suggestive straps and cut-away panels all contributed to the polished rock n’ roll feel. Various jerseys provided the starting point for the collection; swathes of soft, inky hued fabric adding to the attitude of Issa’s sassy army.

Juxtaposed patterns were key here – alongside the crocodile effect jacquard used on outerwear and leopard print for tops and trousers, O’Hare also took inspiration from Bahrain’s infamous racetrack, allowing the dramatic lines it weaves in the desert to inform intricate, curved embroideries on mini-dresses and coats.

The collection unveiled a series of show stoppers, but we fell for a burnt yellow jumpsuit, with its asymmetric cut and halter-neck. Buckled, pointed booties courtesy of Tabitha Simmons were also particularly lust-worthy, a perfectly edgy accompaniment to proceedings.
