3 Lunch Spots in Paris

BEST LUNCH SPOTS IN PARIS When you visit Paris as a tourist you have already heard about all these great places and restaurants you want to definitely pay a visit to, things to do; you may even be one of those ones that have a planned schedule and actually manage to stick to it. Well, I am not. Nowadays when I visit Paris I am always on a busy run-around trying to figure out where to go next and how to get there the fastest I can situation; it is Fashion Week. This means there is no time to stop and wait for a table at that great restaurant my friend told me about for lunch. Now, that does not mean you cannot enjoy a great Parisian meal when you are in a rush, think about it, tons of Parisians do this already. Yet you do not want to eat simple fast food, per se, but great food that is still not a time compromise, sometimes even to eat on the move, and still will not break your wallet. So here are my three top foodie choices for when in Paris during Fashion Week.

Chez Papa, photo source.

Chez Papa is a small restaurant across the street from a cemetery that became a small restaurant chain due to its success, and its success is definitely due to the great food there is to be had. Amazing salads, some classics from the south of France, a bit more of a “country” feeling in the big city that is Paris. Everything tastes authentic and it is definitely a must visit every time we are in town.

L’Avant Comptoir, Photo Source 1 2.

Chef Yves Camdeborde’s Le Comptoir is always a great choice be it lunch or dinner, but hey, you are in Paris for a week and you completely forgot to make a reservation say… two months ago, so what do you do now? Head next door to the L’Avant Comptoir, there is great food to be had inside with the same quality ingredients but in a much more crammed up, standing up, bar-like environment. Or pick up a crepe or baguette to go at the entrance, I bet you it will still be better than anything else you could eat while walking in Paris.

Cantine California, Photo Source

Cantine California started as a food truck founded by some ex-pats serving two great classics: Burgers and Tacos. When in need of some comfort food, a taste from back home there is always Cantine California. Valentina and Cholula sauce imported straight from Mexico and even cupcakes, they have the essentials to make one smile. They have since opened a small restaurant that I have yet to visit but check out their website to hunt down the truck on any given day, you won’t regret it.
