Whether you enjoy cleaning or not, you may as well make it as quick and easy as possible, right? So the old adage about using the right tool for the job definitely applies here. Today we are applying it to cleaning with microfiber cloths. There are definitely some cleaning jobs that benefit from using a microfiber cloth–and that means you benefit too! Let’s talk about the things you should be cleaning with microfiber cloths.
Microfiber cloths are soft and plush and won’t scratch softer surfaces, yet durable and effective against a lot of dirt and grime. They are so versatile you really could use them anywhere, but here are the things that benefit the most from a good cleaning with a microfiber cloth.
All of the hard surfaces in your home, and particularly your kitchen and bathroom countertops, are things you should be cleaning with a microfiber cloth. Did you know that microfiber cloths actually can clean surfaces like these without any harsh chemicals? The fibers of the cloths are great at grabbing onto and trapping dirt and bacteria inside, pulling it up and away from your surfaces. Just wet them with water, wipe, and wring out. These cloths hold so much water that if you don’t make sure to wring them out, they can get smelly when left damp for too long.
Microfiber cloths are an excellent cleaning too for all your shiny surfaces, including glass and stainless steel. With a microfiber cloth, you won’t need a commercial window cleaner. Just fill a spray bottle with one part water to one part white vinegar. Spray the mixture onto a microfiber cloth, and then wipe down your mirrors, windows, and other shiny surfaces.
Did you know that a dry microfiber cloth really grabs onto dust? That makes it a great tool for dusting around the house, including those dusty window blinds. You can use a little water if needed for heavier dust and grime. It’s also the right tool for dusting all your baseboards and trim!
Use microfiber cloths to help wash and dry your car without the worry of scratching any of the finish.
In addition to these things you should be cleaning with a microfiber cloth, I would add one more thing. My favorite way to use a microfiber cloth is to pull pet hair off my microfiber sectional. It really works better than any other method. And if you like that hack, here are some more helpful home-keeping hacks you should know.
