Organizing Box Tops with a Recycled Container
Today I’m sharing my 5 Tips for Organizing Box Tops over at Ask Anna. I thought this was the perfect time to share this trick I use for organizing Box Tops at our house.
We clip Box Tops for Education and Labels for Education from the labels of products we purchase. Our school can turn those Box Tops and Labels in for cash and educational materials to benefit the students. In the past I’ve collected the Box Tops and Labels in a box in our junk drawer.
While it wasn’t a terrible system, I was waiting much too long before turning the Box Tops into the school and our collection box was always overflowing. A few weeks ago, I was about to throw this cheese container into the recycle bin when I had another one of my light bulb moments. I quickly washed the container up and removed the label.
I used washi tape to cover the ink stamp on the lid and then embellished the lid a bit more. I attached a label so the rest of the family knows where to stash the Box Tops and Labels after they’ve clipped them from the products.
Then I had a second light bulb moment and added a divider in the container so we can sort the Box Tops from the Labels when we put them away. Before we threw all the Box Tops and Labels together in the one collection box. I then had to spend time sorting them before we could donate them to the school. Adding this simple little divider will save me time, which we all know is a precious thing to a busy mom.
The great thing about this box is that it’s small enough that I won’t be able to let so many Box Tops and Labels build up. It will force me to donate them more frequently, which is a good thing for my junk drawer and great for my school.
