12 Days of Christmas Nativity Countdown Printables

One of the things we are doing this year to teach our kids about giving is our version of the 12 days of Christmas with a Nativity.

We bought this Olive Wood Children’s Nativity Set

on Amazon. I wanted one that was not breakable so the kids could touch it, that was small, and and also was 12 pieces. I bought 3 sets, so each of the boys could pick a family.

I bought Wilton Clear Treat Bags

to put the pieces in.

Each day we will give them a piece of the Nativity with part of the Christmas story. On Christmas Day we will drop off the piece of baby Jesus. It will be such a fun way to countdown to Christmas.

I created bag toppers for the bags with the nativity piece name on it. I also created scripture cards that correlate with the piece. Then it was as easy as putting each piece in a bag, stapling the topper on, and then connecting the bag to the scripture card. Here is how they look when put together.

The boys are so excited! They have already figured out there will be 33 stealth missions that they will have to run when the families will be expecting us!

We have done the 12 days of Christmas before, but I like that this year we are keeping it focused on what Christmas is really about.

You can download the whole set of Printables:

I also am offering the bag toppers blank since you might choose to use another Nativity that doesn’t have the exact same pieces and then you can write the piece name on them yourself.

This year our family is rejecting the commercialized version of Christmas and hoping to fight entitlement in our children. You can read all about our choice here.
