Building Your Own Copic Marker Sets!

"I'm a Copic marker beginner, what colors do you recommend getting?"

This is the number one question I am asked, along with "Which colors blend well together?" So quite some time ago, I put together this chart of some of my favorite go-to color combinations and natural blending groups I use all the time (total of 109 colors!) -- I offer it as a free download and I hope you will enjoy using it! If you loose track of this blog post, you can always find the download over on my Copic FAQ page HERE.

Building your own marker sets ensures your collection will contain your very own personalized sets/colors that will get the most love and use from your papercrafting dollars! I always suggest selecting some of your favorite colors you are naturally drawn to, along with some of the suggestions below, according to what you typically color most, i.e. people, nature, etc. After selecting a few favorite hues from each color family, you will probably want to also choose another marker or two which are either lighter and/or darker than your favorite so you can achieve nice blending results (also known as natural blending groups). My charts show some of those natural blending groups.
