Double Date at Dilworth Neighborhood Grille

Sometimes a mid-week double date with friends is just what you need to carry you through to the weekend. Last night Ryan and I met up with Melissa and Jarian at Dilworth Neighborhood Grille for dinner and had a great time!

(Quick tip for my fellow preggos: Express Drawstring Pants = Ridiculously comfortable non-maternity maternity wear! I bought these pants a few years ago and they’ve been the perfect pregnancy pants because the waistband sits comfortably under my bump.)

Our little group of four met up just after 7 p.m. and grabbed a table outside since the weather last night was warm with a slightly cool breeze.

Jarian and Melissa used to live in Charlotte years ago but moved to New York City back in 2012 and just recently returned. Melissa and I were in the same sorority at UCF, but we didn’t hang out all that much in college. (Our sorority was rather large.) Melissa actually became good friends with one of my best friends, Merri, when she lived in NYC and Merri reconnected us when Melissa moved back to Charlotte.

Melissa and I met up for lunch a few weeks ago and have been trying to make plans for a double date to hang out again ever since! I’m glad we had a chance to get the guys together for dinner last night as well because the four of us had a lot to talk about! Melissa and Jarian are expecting their first baby two weeks after we are, so we definitely have a lot in common at the moment. I’m excited to hang out with them again, soon!

The atmosphere at Dilworth Neighborhood Grille is very laidback and the restaurant served as the perfect spot for a casual midweek double date.

Our meal began with a round of wings to share. We took our waiter’s advice and opted for wings tossed in a combination sauce with hints of barbeque and honey mustard. They were wonderful!

For my main meal, I opted for the Asian salad which was a great choice.

The crispy wontons on top of the fresh greens were fabulous and though you can’t see them underneath the wontons, there were tons of juicy mandarin oranges in this salad as well which added a perfect bunch of sweetness. I’d order this meal again in a heartbeat!

Once we were all done eating, we weren’t quite ready to leave and since the restaurant wasn’t very busy, we took our time sipping on our drinks and chatting at our table for another hour or so. It was a great little mid-week pick-me-up and we hope to see Melissa and Jarian again very soon!
