Lace + Denim

Now that it's April & the weather is (finally) warming up for good, it's time to start planning more outdoor activities. Festival season is nearly upon us and many of you will be attending concerts & outdoor events in the coming months. So I will be sharing a few festival-inspired looks over the next couple of weeks - I hope to show that even if your personal style isn't completely bohemian, there are still some easy ways to incorporate pieces into your look for the season.
One of the most important things when heading to a festival is comfortable footwear. I made the mistake of wearing new ankle boots to an outdoor concert last year - while they looked cute with my floral dress, they were not yet broken in & I ended up with the worst blisters of my life! These flat sandals are not only comfortable, but the striped detail on the straps provides a stylish update that makes them easy to pair with both sundresses & laid-back looks.

The second key to pulling off festival style is to work in a few fun elements to your outfit - a fringed crossbody bag, vintage coin bracelet & pinned-back braid help tie the look together and give it a youthful vibe without being over the top. I personally love layering vests with dresses for spring because they help balance out a more feminine piece and give structure to flowy styles without adding unnecessary bulk.

What I'm wearing: Gap denim vest (similar here or here), Very Honey dress c/o ShopLately (also similar here, here or here), Mix No. 6 sandals c/o DSW, Mossimo Fringe Bag (borrowed from my daughter),
Bracelets: Forever 21 (similar), Vintage (similar) & NastyGal (similar), Ray-Ban wayfarers

This post was sponsored by DSW through their partnership with POPSUGAR Select. While I was compensated to write a post about DSW, all opinions are 100% honest & completely my own.
