FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE pt 3

this was the meet-the-designers lunch at our amazing hotel metropol. look at all those little designers we met!

the day before we met beka (right... i mean not far right, that's still me) backstage - he was the booker of one of the girls we shot, we got talking and also met his artist-slash-model boyfriend vlad, fell in love with those two lovely cuties! so we asked if we could do a story on them for INDIE, what it's like being a gay couple in russia right now, they invited us to come along with them for a day, showed us their home, etc - it was amazing

we went to visit beka at the agency's model apartment and took photos there, girls were so cute too, well you'll see in INDIE mag winter issue soon

apartment was situated in the financial area, did not know moscow had a district like this

from the glossy business quarter we rode the subway for around an hour to get to the weird rundown neighborhood beka and vlad live together a small room in a shared apartment

we stopped at every strange and beautiful corner, even shot inside one of the tiny flower stores along the way

i made some pretty detail shots inside their room while daliah photographed the boys kissing in their undies :)

later the day we ended up at a really great place, bar mendeleev it's a hidden bar, you enter through a secret door inside a tiny asian takeoutplace called lucky noodles!

underneath is this dark and beautiful space

also loved their menu, for it's look and content

i had a "pink fairy" (yes that's the kind of girl i am) - with absinth. the bar is named after dmitri mendeleev, a famous chemist and inventor. it only makes sense adding a toothpick with his head glued to it to every cocktail

here you see alessandro from vogue italy who actually found the bar and took us there and right next to me is honeypie joao paulo nunes, founder and editor in chief of thestyleexaminer.com isn't this another great high quality photo? hell yes

what was daliah doing while i had cocktail after cocktail? she had cheese soup. this is for real, a soup bowl full of what tasted like quattro formaggi cheese sauce, just without any pasta with it, it later "froze" into cheese cement. it was yummy still, i mean hey! it's cheese!

we also learned very important russian sign language vocabulary. the one for "let's drink" is like when you show "excellent" and you hold it under your chin and tap your index finger under your chin!
