Chanel Poesie Les 4 Ombres : Swatches and Review

Warming: this is a tale of first love and loss. Hearts will be broken.
To begin, we have a lovely, neutral Chanel beauty, named Poesie.

Poesie has a natural glow and a wonderful shimmering aura.

Just look at how her beauty magnifies in the sunlight:

Editor's note: Poesie is one of the newly formulated quads that Chanel just released. It is limited edition and available at Nordstrom locations. When I swatch it, the shadow is soft and pigmented. The shimmer is gorgeous and complex!

Here are some similar quads:

Tom Ford Enchanted is more pink and sparkly. The deep shade is warmer and more reddish than the dark shade in Poesie.

Guerlain Bal de Minuit is more grey toned. The deep shades are similar, but the Guerlain has more brown.

Now on to the tale of heartbreak.....

When I used Poesie on my eyes, the complexity was lost. It was all shimmer with very little color. It emphasized my lines and was not flattering in any way.

I am pretty disappointed with Poesie, and I have no plans to explore this formula any further. I was hoping it would be similar to the Chanel holiday quads like Topkapi and Harmonie du Soir, but this formula failed to deliver.
