Today we take a look at the Deborah Lippmann Staccato collection. Speckled polishes are popping up all over the place – Illamasqua, Hard Candy also have followed the trend this season. Deborah Lippmann takes glitter to another level once again combining black glitter with traditional soft pastel hues. This collection creates a beautiful pairing of opposites – soft crème polishes with edgy black hexagonal glitter. The Staccato collection has an innovative finish available in three shades reminiscent of your favourites – cotton candy, oreo and mint chocolate chip ice-creams!
“When creating this formula, I was thinking of ways to make black glitter wearable. I like how the glitter pops with a crème base, and I love that we took very wearable spring shades and gave them more pizzazz – even a bit of an edge,” said Deborah.
The formula was the same for all 3 polishes – we used 2 coats for polish for full coverage. There was an even distribution of glitter & it stayed put when adding the second coat. We paired each swatch with the new Deborah Lippmann Gel Lab base coat (Coat of Arms) top coat (Shining Armor). The base coat protected our nails underneath, we noticed when removing the glitter are nails were still in great shape (rare after all that scrubbing/tinfoil). The top coat left an amazing gel-like shine & dried extremely fast.
Polka Dots & Moonbeams: This polish has a milky white crème based infused with black glitter. We love the contrast between the black & white.
We were having so much fun playing around with the shades we wanted to try a quick ombre nail art. OBSESSED. We love how these turned out! Like Strawberry Swirl ice-cream with sprinkles.
What do you think of the Deborah Lippmann Staccato collection? Textured polishes are so big this season! We love that speckled finish & think it’s worth the buy. Deborah Lippmann products are available at www.deborahlippmann.com & Holt Renfrew.
