When pop Couture visited the Cat Cafe Melbourne

Just like I stepped outside of my comfort zone by going to a movie club where nobody I knew was; I went last week to a general Melbourne meet up group, which was all about exploring cultural places in the city, restaurants, or something like the Cat Café.

If I hadn’t already clearly defined, single, and cat enthusiast; surely this would now be it. This is the first of its kind in Australia; and I knew nothing about it except for the brief concept of going for a cup of coffee, and pat some cats!

The guys at work seemed to assume I’d be bringing Butter along but no, no. The beauty of this is that there are several rescue cats that get a completely catified space to play in, and it’s the humans that have the privilege of visiting them. There is a set amount of people that can visit within an hour, so the cats don’t get overwhelmed. It was just such a relaxing experience and while it was great to have an activity on a humid Sunday.

I had to share some of the photos I took on the day, and introduce you to the felines I met (I wasn’t very good with names, they didn’t care to introduce themselves…) I’m sure I’ll get to know them more on future visits.

Look at this bundle of snow!

This one reminded me of my own mancat, Butter. What a setting!

Braveheart; playing with a feather. Action shot! ADORED this lil one.

One of the sweet little kittens we encountered. This pose was very ‘paint me like one of your French girls’

I had to share this photo of two of the cats; Sherlock & Lopez – the next feline detective show?

Like a sphynx, and in this lil cave – I adore this photo

Because I had to take a photo in front of several cats (ideal dating profile pictures, y/n?)

And honestly, as much as I am shy about posing for photos, I was just feeling so relaxed with the experience, I felt like I could handle a photo to document the moment :)

I highly recommend a visit; and even in snobby coffee drinking Melbourne; you’re there for the kittehs.
