Colourpop Lippie Stix in Flawless - Swatch and Review

I Purchased This

When I got my two Supershock Eyeshadows (swatches and review here), I also picked up a Lippie Stix in the shade Flawless. Flawless looked so beautiful as a red-violet and I was so intrigued considering it was only $5. It also looked hella slick and it's been so worth the $5.

Where to Purchase: Colourpop
Price: $5.00 for 1.0 grams/ .0352 oz of lipstick
Do they test on animals?: The company does not.
Packaging: The lipstick comes in a white plastic twist up tube with a holographic label. The packaging is similar to what you might get with an eyeshadow pencil, it actually reminds me of the old MAC Shadesticks. The bullet has an angled tip.

Keep in mind that the price is proportional to the amount of product you get. It's about 1/3-1/2 the size of a regular lipstick so $5 is pretty reasonable. I also like the packaging since the bullet has an edge and is slim enough that you can apply it without needing to use a lip brush. It's very travel-friendly since it's got such a slim profile.

Flawless is described as a "deep red violet in a satin finish".

Swatch:

The lipstick was applied straight from the tube in one layer. The photos were taken in natural daylight with no flash.

Formula:

The formula is super smooth. Despite being a darker color and a purple, it didn't tug or drag on the lips. It applied evenly and opaquely! I do think this is a color that will look either more berry/pink or purple depending on your skin tone. On Phyrra, it looks much more berry/pink than it does on me. It smells slightly vanilla.

Be sure to exfoliate your lips before wearing it because it'll cling to any dry patches.

Wear time is about 6 hours, though I did notice some feathering by the end of the 7th hour. The color was still there by the end but you may need to use an anti-feathering pencil if you're prone to feathering (which I unfortunately am!)

Conclusion:

For $5, it's so worth a try. It's not only inexpensive but has got a great formula that doesn't tug or drag on the lips. They also have a wide shade range in a variety of finishes too. The packaging is excellent for on the go application since the bullet is slim and the angle helps get a clean edge. Their eyeshadows are pretty great too so you should definitely try out at least one of each!
