Antonio Ortega Haute Couture SS15 – Urban Impression-ism

A captivating collection to say the least. Designer Antonio Ortega, born in Mexico, began his love affair with couture and fashion at the tender age of 8, and throughout his career has always been in search for that which hasn’t been created yet. He certainly has infused an incredible amount of energy

Slightly impressionist silk prints dominated his collection, a mix between de Vinci and urban graffiti, Ortega has a striking sense of how to underline the forms of the female body as a heroic yet delicate being. Sexy without being vulgar, fluid without being too lofty, his designs and his collection we full of details that captured the attention. « Fragile » tape on large round headpieces that were reminiscent of madonna-esque characters from da Vinci paintings were poignant.

The Antonio Ortega woman is both strong and gentle at the same time, sexy but graceful, a little wild and modern yet well rooted in a femininity that cannot be denied.
