{U by Kotex} Barely There Panty Liner Review

Hello Lovelies,

First, I’d like to thank all of you for supporting my decision to start my series on reviewing feminine hygiene products. Your kind words are much appreciated.

Today’s review is on the Barely There Liner from U by Kotex.

Here’s a liner so thin and flexible, you might forget you’re wearing it. It helps you stay clean and fresh everyday, or it keeps your undies in the clear when your period is light (or unexpectedly early). Fun designs are anything but ordinary.

PACKAGING: Each liner is individually wrapped making it super easy to tote around discreetly. As you can see below, the wrapper measures about 3 x 3 inches.

SIZE: Once opened, the liner is stuck to the wrapper. The absorbent portion of the pad measures about 4.75 inches in length and about 1.5 inches in width. The absorbent portion of the pad is in an elongated oval shape and is relatively very small compared to the other panty liners I’ve seen. The almost sheer area outside of the oval is NOT absorbent.

TEXTURE: Very thin, soft and flexible. Properly named as “barely there.”

ADHESIVE: U by Kotex has made it easy to peel off from the backing which is nice.

As you can see in the image below, the back of the liner has strips of the adhesive which starts about 1/2 an inch from the edge of the liner. I found it slightly uncomfortable as the edges would lift off and/or fold over. These liners are for the lightest of days for sure.

ABSORPTION: Below, I did my absorbent test with 1 teaspoon of water just like I did for my Always review (click here).

The liner was drenched with the 1 teaspoon of water. While the liner did absorb all the water, because the absorbing section of the liner is so small… it wasn’t able to hold the liquid when I touched it. My hands were wet upon touching the liner.

PROS & CONS:

  • You can barely feel these liners. These panty liners would be only enough for the lightest of days.
  • The thin and flexible nature of the liner is extremely discreet but at the same time it is so thin and flexible, it doesn’t hold its shape. Not necessarily a bad thing… but just thought I’d mention just how thin the liner is. Probably the thinnest one I’ve seen thus far.

I hope this review was helpful. Please let me know in the comments below if you have any questions or want to let me know your favorite panty liner! I love reading all your comments.
