Tanasha Jones-Polk

Leopard is a Neutral

“As far as I’m concerned, leopard is a neutral.” If you are into fashion, I am sure you have heard or seen this quote from Jenna Lyons, who happens to be a tall girl and a fashion icon.

As I was trying to figure out what shoes to wear with my neutral ensemble, that quote became my inspiration. I have a habit, sometimes good and sometimes bad, of being overly matchy-matchy and as you all know I’m on a fashion journey to fix and find my style.

So I was proud of myself for putting together this outfit from pieces that I’ve had in my closet for quit some time, but I didn’t want to mess it up by choosing the wrong shoes. The Tanasha of yesterday would have paired my camo print shoes that match perfectly with the shades of grey and army green. But this “leopard is a neutral” quote saved me…lol I love this look, I feel confident, chic and dare I say stylish!

Ooh and let us take a moment to talk about these heels from Sole Society. They are the bomb, because of the more rounded, almond almond shaped toe, they are, dare I say, comfortable. I also love that this leopard print doesn’t look cheap, in my opinion it is on par with J. Crew’s leopard print, which I love, but at a fraction of the price. I am so happy they started carrying size 12’s.

I’ve paired these fabulous leopard print heels with my light grey blazer from banana republic, its a size 12 tall and I love the sleeve length. It is perfect. My army green twill ‘ankle’ length joggers are from Gap. They are a size tall, when I purchased them online I didn’t realize they were going to be this short, even though they said ankle length, they were tall size, so I assumed incorrectly that they would be only slightly above my ankles. I decided to keep them anyway, because I think they still look stylish as cropped joggers on me. I actually think I look taller and leaner in these pics, which I believe is due to their slim cut and where my blazer is hitting me, its creating a long line. Which also tells me that this outfit is a good one and shall be repeated..hehe

What I’m Wearing:

Pants: Gap (tall) (love these and these, both available in long)

Shoes: Sole Society size 12, similar up to a size 12

Blazer: Banana Republic (tall), (similar, similar both available in tall)

Tanktop: Old (similar, similar)

Thank you for Stopping by!

Hugs,
