Every since I entered a new age bracket, I’ve been moving towards using more natural, organic products. As a makeup and beauty lover, it isn’t always easy to do so, but luckily, more and more companies are coming out with natural based products. One such brand is Aubrey®. Based out of Tampa, which makes this Florida girl happy, Aubrey is known for their all-natural, handcrafted beauty products, which are also affordably priced.

I’ve used their skincare products and loved the results I received, and was curious to see how their makeup and lip balm products would perform.

Silken Earth Translucent Base – ≈ $20

Of all the products I was asked to try, the Silken Earth Translucent Base in Porcelain was the most intriguing. This loose silk powder, available in a variety of shades, is designed to work as your base. I admit I was a bit skeptical about how this would work on my dry skin, since I don’t typically use powder on my face.

I was pleasantly surprised at the results. It didn’t cake on, and blended well. I love that the ingredients help to nourish my skin, while evening out my skin tone. The coverage is very light, so if you are looking for fuller coverage, this is not the product for you. However, I think it works great on those days when you want a more natural look, or if you are going for the new trend of the “nomakeupmakeup.” Alternatively, I also think you could use the powder to set your makeup.

Natural Lips Sheer Tints – ≈ $6

The next makeup products I tried from Aubrey were their Natural Lips Sheer Tints in Sugar Clear, Mocha Pearl, Blush Pearl, and Ruby Frost. These sheer tints are designed to add just a touch of gloss to your lips, while the Shea butter and other rich emollients smooth and condition.

Sugar Clear – clear gloss with a hint of glitter and a peppermint scent

Blush Pearl – light mauvey peach with a hint of glitter and a spearmint scent

Mocha Pearl – mauvey brown with a hint of glitter and a light peppermint scent

Ruby Frost – berry colored gloss with a hint of glitter and a strawberry scent

These glosses are nice and light, and smell amazing. They feel great on the lips, and provide pigmentation that is more of a “your lips, but better” look. Mocha Pearl and Ruby Frost have the most pigmentation, and provide the best color payoff. Although each Natural Lips have hints of glitter, you don’t notice or feel the glitter once the tint is applied to your lips. I think these glosses work great on their own for a more natural look, or can be used in combination with other lip products to add a hint of color and shine.

Organic Lip Balm – $2.95

The final products in the group were the Organic Lip Balm’s in Spearmint and Peppermint & Tea Tree. Both balms contain Rosa Mosquetta® oil and other moisturizing ingredients that help condition your lips. Rich in antioxidant vitamin C and other nutrients, Rosa Mosquetta oil is made from the pressed hips of a Chilean rose.

I really loved both of these lip balms, and keep one by my bed at night to apply before I go to sleep. For some reason my lips have become very dry right before bedtime, and require instant hydration or I can’t sleep. Yet another product I must add to my nighttime moisturizing routine.

Bottom Line: Aubrey® is a great, affordable organic brand. They offer a wide range of all natural products that hydrate, protect, and nourish your skin. All of their products are cruelty-free, certified organic, all natural, which means you can feel good about using them on your skin, without breaking the bank.
