Babboe Bike

It’s amazing how much you change as a person when you become a parent. For example, the kind of gifts that I usually asked the hubby for were pretty Princess typical.
My usual “go-to” list was always something shiny, something blingy, something spa like and/or something bubbly. And obviously that’s not to say that I don’t LOVE those things anymore (I do!), it’s just to say that other things moved rapidly up the list…like this Babboe cargo bike for example. I saw it a couple months ago on Instagram and I kept telling the hubby that I wanted it for me and Mia. You know, so we could ride it to the beach, to the farmers’ market, to the playground…basically all over Miami Beach. Well, the hubby did good and ordered the bike for us and after 6 weeks of waiting, it arrived.
Straight from Holland via Orange Pedal Bikes in Wynwood. And yes, it’s not as shiny and sparkly as some other things I love, but it’s every bit as fabulous. Wouldn’t you agree?

This bike is pretty much the only bike you’ll ever need if you have kids and/or pets because you can take them everywhere with you with serious safety and comfort. The actual basket that Mia and I are sitting in sits four people (up to 250lbs) and it has seat belts for each little body sitting in there. The back of the bike has a bicycle shelf with strap so you can put your bag/towel there and not lose any of the cargo space. The bike has 7 gears so it’s super easy to maneuver which is great for me in case I want to use it on the packed sand part of the beach. It comes with a bell (my fave) and super bright front and rear lights for safety. If the hubby is home, he’ll usually do the pedaling and we all go out and enjoy the city. When it’s just Mia and me, I take her and the doggies for a spin around Miami Beach. There are three different options to chose from at Orange Pedal starting at $2499 and up.
We special ordered ours which is the Babboe Big. Yes, I know…it’s a bit pricey but if you include the health benefits and environmental perks, you’ll see that it’s very much worth it.
