Martha Dominguez

Rainy Day Woman

I have a confession to make…I’m slightly (read: highly) obsessed with jackets. Give me a rain coat, a trench coat, a swing coat, a puffer, a parka or a cape and I’m a very happy camper.

Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your view point) I live in Miami Beach where wearing a jacket is a rarity. When a cold front comes in (cold front being anything less than 72 degrees) we Miamians break out our jackets and wear them with pride. I know, it’s kind of silly but we got to do what we got to do in this tropical weather.
When the team from Joules reached out to me to review their jacket and wellies, I jumped on the chance…I know I won’t get a chance to use this ensemble that much here in Miami Beach but these boots will be fabulous in Switzerland and this lightweight (super portable) jacket is actually perfect for a truly chilly Miami night.

Jacket: Women’s Packaway padded jacket c/o Joules Shirt: “Je T’aime” linen shirt by J.Crew Jeans: Shya jeans in arena by Genetic Denim Boots: Women’s Lace-up Muck boots c/o Joules

So while I know that most of the country is bundled up hating the cold, I’m here in Miami patiently waiting for that chilly cold front to come through and it seems I’ll be in luck next week. The weather is going to take a turn for the cold and frankly, I can’t wait to be rocking my jacket, sipping on hot chocolate under the heat lamps on Lincoln Road…cause that’s how we do it here in the tropics ;)

XOXO,

Martha
