Apartment Details: Sandra, Photographer

Does anyone remember

this video? It was my first food video, and I knew I needed a pretty place to shoot it. My incredibly gracious friend Sandra Brzezinski lent me her apartment (and videography skills!) to help make that video possible. After it was posted, several people asked me for an apartment tour, thinking it was my apartment (LOL I WISH). Behold, the apartment where my s'mores dip was filmed. Seriously though, go make that after you read this. You're welcome.

I asked Sandra a few questions so you can get to know the personality behind this beautiful studio a little bit more! Hands up in the comments if you agree that this is the most Pinterest-y apartment ever.

"I currently work at an architectural firm in downtown Toronto, and I'm a wedding/engagement/newborn photographer on the weekends. Photography first started out as a hobby when I was in high school, but luckily I was able to merge what I love to do into a part time career a few years ago. Maybe one day I'll gather up enough courage and pursue it full time! In addition, I'm currently looking to take a Metalsmith Workshop and would love to be able to make and sell my own jewellery. Hopefully I can somehow incorporate both of those things in the future.

My space is very small, so incorporating everything that I would like to is a bit of a challenge and nearly impossible. I have to be very selective in what I choose to bring into my apartment. I really like Scandinavian design - it's very minimalist and I like the earthy tones. I tried to incorporate that into the design of my apartment, mixed in with splashes of colour throughout.

My favourite thing in the entire space is the antler plaque/jewellery holder I have hanging about my bed. I purchased it from a flea market in Tennessee (Leiper's Fork, about 50 km south of Nashville). That road trip was one of my favourites and I would love to go back to Nashville some day. The plaque that it's mounted on was actually hand made by my friend! Currently, the chalk board wall is filled with inspirational quotes that I have come across or just quotes that I've found and really liked. One day I hope to draw some kind of mural on it, when I have decided on a theme.

Overall, I really enjoy my space - the location is great and close to restaurants, parks and museums etc. The one thing I would change is the lack of storage space. My closet is extremely small for the amount of clothes I own…and shoes."

I've tried many expensive foundations for combination skin, and find myself coming back to this Revlon Colorstay. The best part? It's only $15! Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner is a little pricey ($26) but I find that this one lasts for a good amount of time, and I do winged liner every day. Also, it doesn't smudge midway through the day. I picked up Caudalie Anti-Wrinkle Defense Serum in Paris and I like how refreshed it makes my skin feel. A friend has been convincing me to get a Clarisonic for months. I feel like it's made my skin smoother and easier for creams and makeup to sink in. Urban Decay Naked 2 - i find it's one of the only eyeshadows that is well pigmented and actually stays on. Maybelline Great Lash Mascara is an inexpensive and overall really good mascara that doesn't clump.
