Fendi Debuts World’s Tiniest Backpack, New Bags for Resort 2016

One of the most exciting things about Fendi right now is that I never feel sure I know what the brand’s going to do. I know it will have the general Fendi aesthetic, but beyond that, it’s a brand that seems to find endless new ways to be delightful, and fans eat it up. Fendi Resort 2016 easily fits in with that tradition.

The lookbook includes new spins on some old favorites, including a shrunken version of the popular Petite 3Jours tote and a micro-sized backpack with the brand’s signature monster eyes. Whether or not I could wedge my enormous phone into the latter is up for debate. Many of the bags feature thick, contrasting snakeskin straps, which are a nice touch to a part of bag design that often gets overlooked.

The collection also features several new bags, including a pared-down top handle with a zip top that will undoubtedly provide an excellent canvas for future embellishments. At Fendi, that’s the first thing you can count on.
