Layers Upon Layers Of Warmth

The faux fur jacket over a roll neck sweater with skinny jeans and boots

I hope you have all had a wonderful weekend! I’ve spent mine quite quietly, enjoying some down time at the park yesterday and today I have been busy cleaning and sprucing things up, which I guess you could say was Spring cleaning. Did any of you catch the eclipse on Friday? I was really excited for it and got up really early to watch it, but it was so full of smog here that I couldn’t get a view of the sun and ended up watching it on the TV instead, which was incredible. I remember the last eclipse that I saw back in 1999, when everything went dark, so I was hoping this one would be the same, but it was only up north that it happened that way unfortunately. I did manage to sneak a glimpse when the moon was passing over as the sun had popped out for a few moments, but not as much as I was hoping. I did put some incredible photos from others on my Instagram though if you want to see!

Getting to my outfit, I wore this last weekend when I was in town with Adam. It was pretty cold so I decided that I needed to layer up for warmth. I wore my River Island Roll Neck Sweater over a tank top (not visible) and then layered on my Zara Faux Fur Shearling Gilet. I actually got this a few months ago in the sale when it was on, but this is the first time wearing it here, so unfortunately it is sold out now. It’s really cosy and soft though, perfect for keeping warm! I paired the tops with my Citizens of Humanity Rocket Crop Skinny Jeans and then tucked them into my DUO Black Suede Knee Boots. As you know I am literally obsessed with the Rocket cut from Citizens, so it was only fitting that I got them in the cropped version too, although since I have shorter legs, they are more like ankle jeans on me, but they are incredible! I definitely recommend these to you as I’ve been living in them for a while now!

This isn’t usually a look that I wear as I tend not to layer too heavily on top as I have a fear of looking too bulky, but I think when you pair the combination with knee high boots to add some height and sleekness, it really counteracts the heaviness up the top. I was inspired by the New York Fashion Week outfit that I had put together in a previous post at the end of last month, so this is my interpretation of that one. I would love to know what you other personal style bloggers and readers think of my outfit! I always love reading your comments and responding to them. Don’t forget to vote in the poll too and you can also shop similar pieces in the scroller at the bottom of this post. Have a wonderful Sunday evening!
