The Roll Neck Sweater

The roll neck sweater with skinny jeans and Louboutin Pigalle heels…

Roll neck sweaters have been a style that I’ve wanted to try for absolutely ages. I used to wear them as a child, but finding one which meets my requirements as an adult has been challenging for years. I can’t wear wool or mohair as it gives me a rash, so that eliminated about 80% of the sweaters I’ve had to try over the months and others were too thick and chunky, which for a bigger chested girl just doesn’t work at all without making you look huge and frumpy. I wasn’t really into the tight fitting ones that you can get either as I found them too smart, I wanted something casual and cosy.

Then, I found this gorgeous roll neck jumper from River Island! I completely fell in love with it when I saw it and I thought it looked perfect! It has no itchy fibers whatsoever and it has a longer slouchy fit, to look cosy, all while the material looks soft and warm, while still being thin, so all in all, it’s the perfect sweater and definitely worth the months of searching for! This is definitely not a purchase I regret making and I know it’s something I’m going to be wearing time and time again! If you are interested in the fit of it, it does run true to size, I took my usual UK 6 size in it and it fits me well. I even think the little zippers on the side are really pretty, they are functioning too if you should wish to use them!

So for the outfit, I decided to pair the roll neck sweater with my Citizens of Humanity Rocket high rise skinny jeans in Axel, finished off with my Christian Louboutin Pigalle 100 in Black and my Rebecca Minkoff Denim Love Cross Body Bag. I feel like this outfit really has a mature edge to it and that’s definitely something I lean towards now when styling my outfits. As I’m 26 (I know, I look a lot younger), I feel like it is time I started dressing older so that I’m taken more seriously. A lot of the time if I’m not wearing heels or I’m wearing something really casual for errands, I will get asked why I’m not at school, which will obviously be beneficial when I’m older of course, but for right now, it’s not, ha ha. I actually do think that this might be one of my favourite outfits of the year so far! What do you think?
