Flowering Snowball Quilt - A Finished Quilt

I hope you don't mind if I bombard you with an epic gallery of photos of the finished Flowering Snowball Quilt. I am thrilled with how this quilt turned out and happy to have ticked this one off my bucket list, although I think there may be more Flowering Snowball Quilts in my future ... I have already invested in smaller - 6" Flowering Snowball block - templates!

I spent much time thinking about how to quilt this quilt and when the time came to get started I was still undecided but simply had to make a start - creating a foundation of intersecting lines first, then adding more lines of stitching in between. Once I was happy with the spacing and texture created by the closely spaced straight lines of quilting I ditch-stitched around each individual circle and semi-circle along the quilt edge. Stitching my way around each circle was quite the task!

For the back of the quilt I have used my go-to backing fabric ~ Newsprint by Carrie Bloomston from the Story collection ...

... and couldn't resist but finished the quilt with my signature black/white stripe binding fabric by Timeless Treasures:
QUILT STATS Flowering Snowball Quilt Quilt measures 68 inches x 68 inches. 64 Flowering Snowball Quilt Blocks. All solid fabrics are Robert Kaufman Kona Cotton. Background fabric is Kona Cotton in White. Aurfil 28wt cotton thread for quilting.
