I fell in love with Phillip Lim's black and white stripped pants form his FW 2012 collection many months ago. The clean lines look simple and refined, yet endlessly chic and I was on the hunt for a similar pair of pants (my pending student loans won't allow me to procure Phillip Lim items). Alas, I discovered Cynthia Steffe's black and beige striped suit shortly after, and it was love at first sight. I decided against the matching blazer at the risk of looking too dowdy, and instead paired it with a neon Cynthia Steffe blouse that had been hanging around my closet for ages.

Although I thought I looked chic, I was very wrong, or so my sister thought so. You see, I place my sister on the pedestal, and her word is the ultimate word from God. She told me I looked like I belonged to the mariachi band.

Shock and horror.

With one comment, these pants found their way back to the department store at which they were procured. Shattered were the dreams of the Pants & I enjoying our tete-a-tete during the fall months. Yes, I totally wore pants, took pictures, and returned them (albeit for a good reason). It got me to think, I can't be the only one who engages in such an activity, am I? I mean, I've rarely seen a fashion blogger repeat an outfit. I've always wondered what these bloggers did outside of their blogging career to sustain such a large arsenal of designer goods. Although I seldom repeat outfits (ok, I lie), I don't know anyone on this planet who has a closet large enough to fit 365 outfits. Hell, I've even seen Megan Fox repeat the same pair of Louboutin pumps countless times at movie premieres. Although the intention behind my purchase wasn't solely for the blog, I do wonder if fashion bloggers sometimes purchase apparel for the purpose of being photographed for their blog, after which they find their way back to the dishevelled habitats.

'Fess up, who else is guilty of this act?
