Find your Fire: Inspiring Yourself

With constant sources of inspiration being thrown around through social media, on TV, books, movies, blogs, we are never want for something to inspire us to work harder, be better, and set bigger goals.

But when it comes time to deliver on those goals, even with classes, running groups, accountability groups, social media friends, it’s up to YOU to make it happen. No one will run that marathon for you, no one will lose those pounds, do those pull ups, get that promotion. You’ve got to do it on your own.

You’ve got to find your inner fire, your personal inspiration to drive yourself to accomplish what you’ve set out to do. But how?

Find your WHY. What drives you each and every day? What makes you set your goals? Why did you decide to set your biggest goal this year?

Remember where you’ve been. Look back at where you’ve been. What peaks and valleys you’ve experienced in your life? Your highest highs, and your lowest lows all made you what you are right now. Own them.

Know where you want to go. It doesn’t have to be what everyone else is doing, and shouldn’t. Know where you want to take yourself, your body, your mind, your family. Keep it in the front of your mind each and every day.

Put it out there. These awesome post-it notes from Greatist are a brilliant way to keep your personal inspiration in front of you where you see it most: your bathroom mirror, your bedside table, your computer screen, your refrigerator door.

Inspiring yourself will keep you going long after your group run is over, after you’ve put your phone down for the night, or when you’re in the middle of a race and need something to keep you going.

What’s YOUR why?

How do you inspire yourself?

What inspiration tips would you give?
