My go-to Autumn Foundation: Nars Sheer Glow

I'm never one for a heavy base but now Summer has come to an end, I'm ditching the BB creams and the tinted moisturisers in favour of something with an ounce more coverage. This comes in the form of Nars Sheer Glow Foundation which last winter, this became one of my all-time favourite foundations.

I either apply this with the Real Techniques Buffing Brush or for an incredibly seamless application, I find this is actually best applied with my fingers to get a properly seamless finish (which is a bit cray for this brush loving gal). There's something about the velvety, satin formula which means it's quite slippery so blending with a brush can become prettyyyy tiresome.

The finish however is the thing to rave about. I don't know where the name 'sheer' comes into it as this is most certainly more on the medium side of things yet it doesn't mask the skin and allows your natural oils to shine through. Even in the winter, I'm still a bit of a glow-getter and for this reason, Sheer Glow is perfect; sitting somewhere in-between matte and dewy. It gives a slightly mattifying effect with a gorgeous satiny, lit from within glow to the skin, ideal for the colder months when you want some luminosity but nothing too overboard.

There's a great shade range, I have Mont Blanc which is a tad light right now but perfect when I've lost my summer colour. The mattifying quality will definitely suit oily-skinned gals however it still glides over my sahara-dry skin and doesn't dehydrate, so this honestly is for everyone. Not to mention it's incredible lasting power...honestly, this. stuff. rocks.
