Your quick guide to THE BEACH, Dubai

What is THE BEACH?

If you're visiting Dubai or are fairly new here, you may have heard people talking about 'the beach' as a must place to visit. So, what's the fuss about this place? Despite it's simple name, THE BEACH is a huge complex with just about every imaginable luxury you can expect so close to the Marina Beach. The area is spread over 300,000 square feet with retail stores, food outlets, a cinema with ten screens, an outdoor cinema, and open spaces for entertainment and street events.

It's located opposite Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) and the well-known The Walk, a European-style street lined with cafes.

What can you do at THE BEACH?

We were invited to spend a day at THE BEACH and discovered some great outlets, some of which I'm sharing here.

We had some healthy and refreshing drinks at Fruteiro do Brasil. This Italian origin outlet has some amazing fresh fruit sorbetti lollies, juices, and smoothies - just what you would need after a hot day at the beach. The specialty of this juice bar is that their drinks are made from fresh tropical fruit pulp imported from Brazil. They had some pretty interesting fruits on their menu such as Acerola, Acai berries, and Graviola which have many health benefits.

We also visited The Outdoor Gym, where the trainers gave us an awesome demonstration despite the hot weather!

The team is headed by Kev Teixeira, and they also provide personal training. You can use The Outdoor Gym staring from AED 60 an hour, or join group classes.

If you're looking to unwind and get pampered, the Petit Spa L'Occitaine here is just the place to visit. Using their own natural products, the spa offers facials, body treatments, body wraps, body massages, and more.

For lunch, we stopped by at Busaba Eathai, a Thai restaurant from the UK. It was founded by Alan Yau, known for Hakkasan and Wagamama (another restaurant we love!).

Our meal included Som Tam (spicy raw papaya salad), Pad Thai (stir fry rice noodles), Mussamam Duck Curry, and crispy Goong Tod Prawn. I must mention their Mango Lassi, which was so delicious and refreshing!

The one outlet, I instantly fell in love with, it was the Godiva Chocolatier with rows upon rows of the heavenly Belgian chocolate. They also serve ice cream, beverages, and desserts made with their signature chocolate.

This Dark Decadence Chilled Chocolixir they served totally stole my heart!

There's so much more you can do at THE BEACH - whether it's catching a live event, watching a movie under the stars, shopping, or just taking in the ambiance. It's open from 9 AM to 2 AM so you can always expect to find something interesting happening there.

The adventurous can also try water sports, or chill out at the Splash Park, for adults and kids. There's also a mini water park for kids called Splash Pad - a perfect spot for kids on a hot afternoon!

On the go, you can grab a quick bite or something to drink from one of their many food carts.

And if all the walking tires you out, just hire a tuk-tuk. We did, and loved the ride!

This is only a glimspe into all that THE BEACH has to offer. Explore it yourself because there's lots more to see!

Parking at THE BEACH is premium compared to other places in Dubai, at AED 20 per hour, but if you spend AED 75 at any of the outlets, you are entitled to free parking for three hours.

And for those who like to stay connected, there is free WiFi (yay!).

Visit THE BEACH website for a list of their outlets and ongoing events.
