Sights & Sounds

A few years back I made a pact to myself that I would rediscover my love for live music. As a teenager, I clamored to see my favorites perform at local venues. Once I moved to New York, I jumped on the opportunity to see those same artists at some of the city’s most coveted arenas. Work eventually took over my life and my spark for live music unfortunately fizzled as a result.

I was so excited when NYLON Guys and Original Penguin invited me to see Tanlines perform at Rough Trade as part of their tour across the U.S. I remember dancing around my bedroom lip-singing their hit, “All Of Me.” I was joined by my blogger pal Isaac (of Isaac Likes) for the festivities and outfitted for the evening by my friends over at Original Penguin, who are celebrating their 60th Anniversary! OPG has always been a go-to of mine for their concert/festival vibes… I mean, they have had some major fans in the music industry (going back to Rat Pack greats like Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby).

Needless to say, it was a night to remember. Good music, great friends, and a few whiskey sours… New York nights are my favorite!

* If you get the chance, be sure to download Tanlines’ newest album, Highlights.
